Thriller, the world’s greatest album of all time, is King of Pop’s sixth studio album. It placed itself at an undarable height with singles like “Billie Jean” and “Beat It”. It sold more than 32 million copies worldwide which has set the bar so high that it’s still intact. The album has 9 songs altogether but in this list, we are covering 6 best songs.

6. P.Y.T

Controversial yet beautiful, this should describe the song. “P.Y.T” was agreeably different from the “Thriller” flavor but it had its own effect. The song dedicated to a “Pretty Young Thing” is filled with love and a young charm that awaits appreciation. Though it performed moderately, I must say it deserves attention.

5. Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’

This relatively lesser-known song from Thriller has had its day. An aroma of Jackson’s previous works lingered through the song. Although not highly cherished, it was quite a hit in European countries. Written and co-produced by Michael himself, the song is thoroughly enjoyable if one needs a little break from the upbeat tempo of other songs.

4. The Lady In My Life

Penned by Rod Temperton, “The Lady In My Life” asks for extra attention. Michael goes slightly more intimate in this single in comparison to the other songs. It may strike as an unrecognized song for Michael but counts as a legacy to its writer, who even named the album. Also, I must say, such little known songs work a time travel pill to explore MJ’s charisma once more.

3. Thriller

This extraordinary example of music entertained the whole world twice: the first one with the audio and then came to the video. “Thriller” was incredibly written as a song that’d insinuate scary feelings. It became RIAA certified 7x platinum and sold more than 9 million copies. Like many other songs, it has too managed to stick with people’s nostalgia for more than three decades.

2. Beat It

Another one of Jackson’s musical masterpieces. “Beat It” always occupied the next spot after “Billie Jean”. Michael created the song with a rock flavor to attract the young rockaholic audience. It won two Grammy Awards and spent some weeks on top of the Billboard Hot 100. The song has later been used in several commercials and was the lead anthem of US Govt. Drunk Driving Awareness.

1. Billie Jean

That contagious rhythm from the very beginning nailed the song to perfection. “Billie Jean” is noted as MJ’s one of the most popular songs of the 20th century. The second single of the phenomenal album has tasted success from both critics and the public. It picked up on No.1 in Billboard Hot 100 and sold more than 10 million copies. The rather unusual lyrics about a woman claiming the artist to be the father of her child attracted the audience profoundly. Also, in a live show, Michael performed the Moonwalk for the first time on this song.
